Fraser Canyon — one of BC's most scenic drives
The Canyon

Right Outside

The Fraser Canyon is the reason you took Highway 1 instead of the Coquihalla. Towering canyon walls, the river carving through, a pocket climate all its own. We're right in the middle of it.

The Setting

Boston Bar,
British Columbia

Halfway between Yale and Lytton, on the east bank of the Fraser River, Boston Bar sits inside a steep-walled canyon with a climate all its own. This is the first place inland where the coastal rain gives way to interior dry—where western red cedar grows next to ponderosa pine. The Trans-Canada Highway threads through tunnels and along the canyon wall. Freight trains rumble through on both sides of the river—CNR on our side, CPR across the water in North Bend. VIA Rail's Vancouver-to-Toronto passenger service stops here. This is not a place you stumble on. It's a place you decide to go.
